Smart Coal Bunker

A SmartCoalBunker is a type of gravity-fed coal bunker which uses a gravity-fed fuel dispenser to fill the coal bucket. The shute automatically shuts off when the coal bunker is filled. The bunker ships inside a box however, it requires assembly before use.

Innovative storage bunker

An innovative storage bunker has been created by Tata Steel in the UK. The bunker can accommodate four thousand tonnes of coal. It also has a multi-stage infill system that addresses many of the issues with coal flow. It spreads the flow to previously dead areas of the bunker.

This product makes it easier to transport and store heavy items. It is also water-proof and airtight and is able to be easily filled. Its design allows it be fixed to the ground. It stops condensation and helps keep the animal feed fresh.

After 35 to 41 days the temperature of the coal stored in the bunker for storage decreases gradually, ranging from 345 K to 350 K. The temperature decreases rapidly after 41 days. This is a sign that the system to control the temperature. The temperature drops , and the coal in the storage bunder starts to cool.

Problems with coal bunkers that are traditional

Traditional coal bunkers pose problems in a variety of ways. First coal is a homogeneous, porous material. The material can become fragile and brittle if isn’t hydrated with air or water. This could cause structural damage to silo walls, floors, feeders, or other equipment.

Second, coal is frequently mixed with slush or other substances, which decreases the efficiency of discharge. This issue is exacerbated during the lunar months with high moisture. A typical coal bunker is typically 38 m high and 40 m wide. It has two ports for coal unloading at the top and two funnel-shaped coal outlets below. They run a competent person scheme in the UK and work closely with local authorities to meet air quality legislation.

Dispensing mechanism
