I enthusiastically approve of the Lil Diamonds program! Baseball and boxing drills are similar because they involve consistent training of the body and mind by multiple repetitions. To achieve improvements in your skill set, a portion of your training must be devoted to improving those skills in a structured way. Lil Diamonds is an excellent beginner’s baseball book because it combines understanding the game of baseball, focusing on fundamentals, and providing repetitive drills for constant improvement. Lil Diamonds is a youth baseball knock out!

New York-based musician, playwright and educator, Kevin Kane’s “Breaking the Line with the Mudville Nine” was written for and first performed at the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame. Kevin’s play, “A Love of the Game” was first performed in 1995 at the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. Kevin’s depth of experience of theater led him to become a playwright representative for several people including August Wilson, who has been referred to as the “theater’s poet of Black America”.
I highly recommend this book to all parents of young children interested in playing baseball and to Little League coaches as well. It gives great demonstration and instruction of the fundamentals needed to learn the game and to improve the skills and odds of success of your player. And it shows them how to have fun at the same time!
I saw all the love and time that Reggie spent writing and publishing this book. He took the best of his personal experience as a professional ball player, and the coaching and guidance he received from his Dad and all of his coaches along his path to teach youngsters how to play the game. It’s also an easy read!

The amount of success in one household is a true testament to my dad’s commitment and dedication to giving his three sons the competitive edge to compete and succeed in baseball. He knew the importance of having fun while practicing baseball. I decided to take the instruction I learned from my dad to write Lil Diamonds – Baseball Gems in the Making. The Lil Diamond program is designed to make your child successful while playing baseball and have loads of fun doing it!
Learning how to win is #1
Consistently drilling is #2
#3 There will be setbacks on the path to success. Your love and encouragement will help them on their path.
#4 As long as your kid achieves success on the field, he/she will have fun and then they’ll want to practice, do drills and keep playing.
These are the same principles I have followed day in and day out that led me to get drafted by the Seattle Mariners and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Reggie was recruited by dozens of colleges and chose Northwestern University, a member of the Big Ten Conference on a dual scholarship for baseball and football. As he was completing his junior year, he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners but turned down the offer to continue his studies. Following graduation, Reggie was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and played in their minor league organization for four years. During his career, he played against MLB Hall of Famers Greg Maddox, Barry Larkin and Roberto Alomar and with or against stars Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, Rafael Palmeiro, Joe Girardi and Ellis Burks. A wrist injury ended his professional playing career, but he never lost his love of the sport. Reggie became a New Jersey high school history teacher and later a licensed wealth manager.
